Summary
We recognise that everyone processes information differently, and our forms may sometimes feel challenging especially if reading, writing, or focusing takes extra effort for you.
This article shares practical tips and support options to help make completing our forms feel more manageable.
Helpful ways to complete our forms
You don’t need to use all of them, just choose what works best for you.
Take it step by step
- Break the form into small chunks (around 10–15 minutes at a time)
- Save your progress regularly
- Take breaks whenever you need to
Make reading and writing easier
- Use read-aloud (text-to-speech) tools to hear questions spoken out loud
- Use dictation (speech-to-text) tools instead of typing
- Focus on the key words in each question
- Short bullet-point answers are fine
Plan before you submit
- Draft your answers in a Word document or Notes app first
- Copy and paste them into the form when you’re ready
Use the right device
- We recommend completing forms on a laptop or tablet
- Smartphones can sometimes cause technical issues
Getting extra support
You don’t have to complete forms on your own. You may find it helpful to ask for support from:
- A friend or family member
- A support worker
- Local advocacy services, such as Citizens Advice
Free tools that may help
Some clients find these free tools useful:
