What is an introductory/welcome call?
The introductory/welcome call (optional for AXA clients), is a 10-15 minute non-clinical call with a member of our Operations Team to explain the process and purpose of the psychoeducation sessions. They are also a good opportunity to answer any questions you might have, and discuss your preferences for days and times to attend the sessions.
These calls are not compulsory, and are just an additional way of presenting information.
What to expect in the psychoeducation group sessions?
ProblemShared aims to provide the tools to those who are newly diagnosed with autism or ADHD to understand their own identity and navigate life following a diagnosis. The psychoeducation groups provide an opportunity to process your emotional response to your diagnosis in a safe, structured environment.
Our psychoeducation group sessions are available to AXA and HCA clients.
There are 4 weekly 90-minute sessions which allow the opportunity for learning, reflection and discussion.
The sessions are grouped by age (parents of children aged 7-11 years, parents of adolescents aged 12-17 years, adults aged 18+), with 8-10 people per group.
The groups cover a variety of topics and there are extra resources available to access from your ProblemShared dashboard.
How do I access the psychoeducation group sessions?
Joining the group session: Click the Teams link in your invitation email.
- You will receive one email from PDIGroups@problemshared.net about one week before your first session.
- This email includes your Microsoft Teams link.
- Save this email to your calendar and set reminders.
- Automated reminders will be sent each week, but they do not contain the access link.
Please always use the original email. - The same link is used for all 4 sessions.
- You can join using:
- The Teams app (recommended), or
- Your web browser (Teams will offer this option)
Who can attend?
The sessions are grouped according to age: adults over the age of 18, parents of 7-11 year olds and parents of 12-17 year olds. Currently we are only able to offer this service to adults and parents, we do not facilitate sessions for the children themselves.
