There are several reasons:
1) Protecting client and clinician privacy. Recordings could inadvertently capture sensitive category information about you, your clinician, or other clients, putting privacy at risk.
2) Confidentiality & GDPR compliance. Sessions often include highly personal discussions, and recording them significantly raises the likelihood of a data breach.
3) Preventing misuse or unintended sharing. Once a recording exists we cannot control or monitor how it is stored, shared, or used, which could compromise the privacy and security of all involved.
